What is South Shore Connection?
South Shore Connection is a collaboration between funders, school, nonprofit organizations and families dedicated to the expectation that every child in our community will obtain the education they need to be successful, productive adults.

Who are the Funders and how did South Shore Connection get started?
Legacy Foundation, Lake Area United Way, and Foundations of East Chicago are the funders of South Shore Connection. They felt the urgent need to address the educational attainment issue that our youth face in Lake County.

What School Districts are collaborating with South Shore Connection?
Gary Community School Corporation, Hammond Community School Corporation, and the Lake Station School District are the school districts collaborating with South Shore Connection.

What is nFocus Software?
nFocus Software is the leading provider of data collection and outcome measurement software to the public sector. For more than fifteen years, nFocus Software has successfully implemented solutions for customers of all sizes.

How will nFocus Software benefit students?
It will help share student data in a “real time” environment between social service organizations and school.

How will data sharing help?
Sharing data will provide the ability to link organization’s data with school performance. This will result in the most robust outcome measurement, directly linking after-school initiatives with school grades and student attendance; thus helping to manage, evaluate and analyze the impact of programs and services.
